The First “Training in Large-Scale Biodata Analysis Methods” Courses Successfully Completed

22.10.2025

With great interest and enthusiasm, the first TARGETWISE project training sessions — “Training in Large-Scale Biodata Analysis Methods” — took place from October 15 to 17 at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis. Participants gained new knowledge and hands-on experience in biostatistics and epidemiology, R programming, databases and omics data analysis, metabolomics, and functional genomics.

The program combined both lectures and practical sessions, allowing participants to apply theoretical insights to real-world examples. The training was led by excellent and inspiring lecturers – Olga Titova, Aleksandr V. Sokolov, and Nikolay Oskolkov – whose expertise provided valuable perspectives on the rapidly evolving field of biodata analysis.

Through this initiative, the TARGETWISE project continues to strengthen scientific collaboration, build research capacity, and foster innovation and sustainable growth in biomedicine.

These were the first courses in the training series – and more are planned ahead, offering further opportunities to expand knowledge and professional skills in this vital field.
